While this list is comprised of the most often asked questions, there are some we may not have listed. What airports do you offer air charter service to?
Flex Air Charters, through our global network and preferred partner program has access to more than 5,000 airports. We also can provide charter services to remote areas as well. Simply let us know where you want to go and we will get you there.
Can private charter jets fly into major airports?
Absolutely! Most jet charter aircraft land at commercial airports however, that does not mean they cannot fly into smaller airports and landing strips.
What terminal and gates are used at the airports?
How long before my jet charter flight do I need to be at the airport?
Once you arrive at the airport, your charter aircraft will be ready, by choosing to make your flight on a private aircraft as opposed to a commercial plane, you have the ability to have lessened security check times as well as much more flexible boarding.
What types of aircraft are available?
Flex Air Charters has access to one of the largest global networks of aircraft operators which mean that you name it, we generally have access to it. From larger aircraft for heavy cargo and big groups to smaller turboprop aircraft for busy executives, we offer a broad range of aircraft to charter.
Who operates the aircraft?
Flex Air Charters arranges your flight from an assortment of operators and FBOs. We are considered “agents” making your reservation but do not own the aircraft, fly the aircraft or conduct business directly from the FBO. All flights arranged by us are operated by FAR Part 135 or 121 air carriers or foreign equivalent (“Operators”), who shall maintain full operational control of charter flights at all times. Operators providing services must meet FAA or JAR safety requirements.
Who selects the private charter jet aircraft I will fly on and how is it chosen?
You will have the option of selecting from several air charter planes and helicopters should your need call for them. Your air charter specialist will make the determination based on your requests which aircraft would best fit the flight and situation and then present you with your options. We determine which aircraft to schedule based on time constraints, location, amount of passengers as well as additional amenities you request and what fits within your budget.
How many seats are there on an air charter?
Seating varies by airplane, from over 20 seats for larger aircraft to as little as 6 for smaller planes.
Can I smoke on my flight?
Yes, however, if this is a request it must be made prior to scheduling your flight so as to ensure you are flying in a smoke safe airplane.
Do the aircraft have bathrooms?
Generally speaking yes, however, some smaller aircraft may have a partially private lavatory.
Will there be WiFi High Speed Internet, Flight Phones and Entertainment on private jets?
Yes, if requested and some additions will incur a fee. Some additional amenities on flights include:
- WiFi Internet
- Televisions with and without DVD players
- Satellite Flight Phones
- Fax Machine
- Entertainment systems
- iPod/iPhone connectivity
- Coffee/Espresso Machines /Microwave
- Medical Kits
Do they serve food and beverages on flights?
Yes. Special catering can be arranged for an additional fee however, soft drinks, bottled water and snacks are provided on all flights at no charge.
Additional Service Questions
Can you arrange my transportation to and from the airport or is it included in the cost of a flight?
Flex Air Charters provides a full concierge service to our clients to make arrangements for hotel accommodations as well as ground transportation. At the time of your reservation we can make these arrangements and include them in your cost or if you wish to make them after the flight, we can provide this service at a separate cost.
Do you offer aircraft chartering for medical flights?
Yes, medical emergencies, air charter evacuations as well as urgent “go now” flights can all be scheduled with Flex Air Charters.
Can you help me acquire and manage my own Aircraft?
Definitely, we can provide aircraft sales, leases and management to current owners of aircraft and those in the market.
Can you help during an AOG (Aircraft on Ground)?
Yes. We can deliver much needed parts and even transport smaller aircraft as well as schedule additional flights needed to circumvent scheduling issues that may arise from the lack of a flight that would have otherwise been conducted by the AOG.
What is the difference between a one-way flight and an empty leg?
A one way flight is when an aircraft, for cargo or personal use is scheduled to fly to one airport. The returning flight is considered an “empty leg” flight as typically there are no passengers on-board. As this is the case, these reservations can be sold at a heavily discounted rate.
How do you ensure my privacy?
While your information is given to your agent, there are no other individuals your flight information, cargo information or accommodations is shared with unless necessary for your safety. In the event of this, we will share this information only with secure government officials at your request or the request of your pilot.
What is Flex Air Charters' stance on safety?
Safety is our prime priority. All aircraft operators Flex Air Charters works with are IS-BAO Registered, ARGUS Platinum Rated, Wyvern Approved and have a robust Safety Management System (SMS) and a comprehensive Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
What if weather affects the flight?
We utilize an advanced weather radar service that allows us to be aware of any weather related cancellations or delays. If one such cancellation does occur we will assist in making changes to your accommodations, ground transportation and any other need that would cause your flight to be delayed, cancelled or diverted.

How much does it cost to charter a jet?
Hourly charter rates vary depending on the type of aircraft you require. Trip minimums are 1.0 flight hours/day.
*This does not include deadhead and repositioning costs that may apply on certain trips or the cost of fuel, taxes, landing fees, and other charges.
Are there cancellation fees?
Yes. If you cancel your charter very close to the arranged departure you will incur fees. Our cancellation policy will be made available to you at the time of your reservation as well as sent to you along with your confirmation.
Can I purchase just one seat on a private jet?
No. Unlike commercial flying, when you charter a private jet for personal or business use, you rent the entire aircraft – the price does not vary with the number of passengers.
How do I pay for my private jet charter?
We accept major credit cards and for special situations, paper checks. We also offer prepayment in the form of our Flex Air Charters Jet Card.
What can I bring on-board my flight?
Most items are safe to bring aboard the plane, except those items deemed as dangerous cargo by the governing agency where you are departing. Please contact us directly with questions.
What documentation do I need for my flight?
You will be required to show your government issued ID as well as any country specific travel documents to the check-in staff. For all international travelers, you will need your passport.
How much luggage can I take?
If you require special items to be on board the aircraft including heavy or hard to stow pieces, please let us know prior to booking, other than these general baggage limitations vary per aircraft. Your reservation specialist will be able to discuss with you your options.
Are children allowed on private jets?
Yes, and there are no age restrictions. However, we do not make reservations for unaccompanied minors. Accommodations for families are made easily, just let us know you will be travelling with children prior to flight.
Are pets allowed on your charter aircraft?
Yes, however, in the case of exotic animals or those animals needing special clearances to travel, there may be some additional accommodations needed to transport them safely. Discuss this with your agent prior to making your reservation.
How do I receive confirmation?
Charter itineraries are delivered by email. They will provide you with your confirmation of reservations as well as the dates you will be traveling, departure and landing times, any additional flight arrangements as well as your aircraft specifics.
Can I personalize my flight?
From the catering to the entertainment, corporate branding, executive accommodations for meeting tables and satellite calls and so much more, we can customize many aspects of your flight, simply ask your air charter representative what we can help you with.
Once on-board, can you accommodate itinerary changes?
Yes we can. You will be in communication with us during your flight, if anything should change, simply let us know and we will make the adjustments with ground and aircraft crews as necessary.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We can be ready for a flight in as little as four hours.

Are flight attendants included in your air charter service?
While some smaller aircraft do not come with flight attendants, larger aircraft will. For smaller aircraft jet charters, you may request flight attendants at a small cost.
