In an effort to maintain his reputation for being spontaneous and as he so eloquently, or not, put it, crazy, former WWE wrestler Chris Jericho once again shocked and amazed wrestling fans. Unmasked, Jericho hid out in an office awaiting his chance to execute a sneak attack on Kenny Omega at All In and then subsequently hopped on a private jet to perform with Fozzy in Kansas later that same evening. For those not fully invested in keeping up to date with the goings-on in the professional wrestling realm, All In is a pay-per-view (PPV) professional wrestling event promoted by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks aka Matt and Nick Jackson.
Jericho later explained on his IG how he was able to pull off the stunt and indicated that he waited for roughly 30 minutes prior to the attack on Omega. He said, “We flew from Little Rock to Chicago. We got in about 5:30 I hid in the Young Bucks’ office at the Sears Centre dressed up as Pentagon, attacked Kenny Omega, unmasked, shocked the world.”
He then went on to say, “Now for the ultimate power move, we are on a private jet to fly to a Fozzy gig in Merriam Kansas. So I’m doing both in one night. Who else would do that? Who else is crazy enough and stupid enough to do that?”
Beyond his outrageous rock star persona, Chris Jericho is a fan favorite and record holder. Chris Jericho started his wrestling career in the 1990’s performing for both US-based organizations Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Jerricho currently wrestles for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) where he was recently awarded the IWGP Intercontinental Championship title. Throughout his career, he has additionally starred in dozens of international promotions and has held numerous titles including the Undisputed WWF Championship, the WCW/World Championship, which he was awarded twice, and the World Heavyweight Championship three times. He also holds the record as nine-time Intercontinental Champion, after being pitted against four other contenders in a 2013 WWE fan poll for the greatest champion in history.
On the night of his surprising All In appearance, Jericho hopped on board a private jet to fly to Merriam Kansas to attend a Fozzy gig. Fozzy is a heavy metal band that Jericho has fronted and sang lead vocals for several years. Since the release of their debut album in 2000, the band has released seven additional studio albums.
Jericho has gone on further to discuss the level of crazy one would have to achieve to hide out in an office space, coordinate and execute a surprise attack, jet set to a gig with a rock band by saying it’s really all in day’s work for him.
Following his surprise antics at the All In event, a rematch with Omega has already been scheduled. And, in typical “crazy” Chris Jericho style, the event is set to take place on a cruise ship traveling from Miami to the Bahamas. Wrestling fans stay tuned for the ultimate rematch during ‘Chris Jericho‘s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager’ in October.
